Read articleFinancial literacy changed my life, and I'm not being dramatic about that. Before I understood how markets actually worked, my investment strategy was essentially "buy what's going up, sell what's going down." That's not a strategy - that's momentum chasing with extra steps, and it's exactly how retail investors underperform the S&P 500 by an average of 3% annually according to DALBAR's annual studies.
The education center exists because I had to learn all of this the hard way. I read Benjamin Graham's "The Intelligent Investor" three times before it actually clicked. I lost money on options I didn't fully understand. I held onto losers too long because of loss aversion - the exact behavioral bias that Daniel Kahneman won a Nobel Prize for identifying. The point is, every mistake in this library came from real experience, and every lesson was paid for in actual dollars.
What makes this different from a textbook is that nothing here is theoretical. When we explain dividend safety, it's because I've held through dividend cuts. When we cover Roth conversion ladders, it's because I've run the numbers on my own retirement accounts. When we discuss behavioral biases, it's because I've exhibited every single one of them.
The articles are organized by category and difficulty level because investing is a journey, not a destination. Start with investment basics if you're new. Work your way up to advanced strategies when you've built a foundation. There's no rush - the market isn't going anywhere, and the principles that worked fifty years ago still work today.
