The 2s10s spread is telling you something about META that the equity market is ignoring. The curve is pricing in slowing growth. Meta Platforms Inc. is a growth stock. Growth stocks do poorly when growth slows. It really is that simple. The bond market has been right more often than the stock market at inflection points. Right now the bond market is flashing yellow and the stock market is acting like the light is green. One of them is wrong. I am betting on the bond market.

reality labs losing 16B a year and nobody cares because the core ad business prints money. llama 3 is genuinely competitive with gpt-4. zuck is playing chess while everyone else plays checkers

@nyc_value_guy or zuck is burning 16B a year on a metaverse nobody uses while tiktok eats their lunch in short form video. the stock works until it doesnt

reels monetization gap with tiktok is closing. ad impressions up 6% price per ad up 10%. the core business is as strong as its ever been. i added on the last pullback

Llama 3 is genuinely competitive with GPT-4 in a lot of benchmarks. If Meta can commoditize AI models they win because they have the distribution. Zuck is playing 4D chess here.

Ad impressions up 6% price per ad up 10%. Core business is solid. The question is whether the AI investment cycle is earnings accretive or a money pit. We will know in 18 months.

Reality Labs lost 16 billion last year. At some point Zuck has to justify that spend to shareholders. The stock has been on a tear but the metaverse bet is still unproven.

META is the most undervalued big tech by far. Threads is growing, Ray-Ban smart glasses are a sleeper hit, and they're spending less on Reality Labs now. Llama models are genuinely good too. Easy 550 by year end.

META at 25x earnings with 20% margins and growing buybacks is actually reasonable. I was bearish at 300+ but at current levels it's a hold. Reality Labs is burning money but the core business prints cash.

META is being chronically undervalued by the street and I'll die on that hill. Running a straightforward DCF at even conservative FCF growth assumptions - call it 15% over the next five years - you're still arriving at a fair value well north of current trading levels. The market keeps punishing Zuckerberg for Capex aggression on AI infrastructure, but that's exactly the kind of spend that expands the EBITDA moat three years out. Comparable companies analysis tells a similar story. META's trading around 23x forward earnings while generating revenue growth north of 19% YoY last quarter. That's not a mature tech multiple - that's a discount you'd expect on a restructuring story, not a cash machine with 3.2 billion daily actives. Institutions have been quietly building positions all year. The insider selling narrative got loud, but the net institutional flows tell a completely different story. So here's what I want to know - with META posting 19%+ revenue growth and institutions still accumulating, what are the insiders actually signaling by trimming at these levels, and does it change your conviction on the multiple?

Honestly? META might be the most underrated AI play in the whole market right now and I'm tired of people sleeping on it. Everyone's obsessed with NVDA and MSFT but META is literally printing - ad revenue up 19% YoY last quarter while they're quietly building one of the most powerful AI recommendation engines on the planet. Zuck turned this ship around HARD and the "year of efficiency" wasn't a one-time thing, it's baked into their DNA now. I've been loading up around the $550s and I'm not even close to done. The Llama models are free, which sounds crazy until you realize it's a massive moat play - developers building on your stack = ecosystem lock-in forever. Bears keep saying regulation kills the ad model but I just don't see the near-term catalyst for that. So genuinely curious - with META posting 19% revenue growth, what specific event or data point would actually make YOU flip bearish on this one?

Okay I'll be honest - I came into this week ready to fade META hard. VIX was creeping up, macro headwinds everywhere, and the stock had already ripped like 180% off its '22 lows. That's a LOT of good news priced in for a company still heavily exposed to digital ad spending, which rolls over FAST in a recession. But here's where I keep getting stuck: the AI monetization story is actually showing up in the numbers. Ad revenue efficiency is genuinely improving, and Reels is outperforming expectations. That's not just narrative - that's real. Still, I'm not ready to chase it at ~28x forward earnings without knowing what happens to ad budgets if we get a soft landing that turns ugly. Zuckerberg has surprised before, but so has the Fed. So genuinely asking - with META sitting around 28x forward PE, what's the single biggest gap between the bull and bear case that the market is currently getting WRONG?

C
CechnicalVanessa🐻 Bajista43d

META at a ~26x forward PE is priced like a hypergrowth machine, but reality check - ad revenue growth is already decelerating and Zuckerberg is betting the entire company on a metaverse pivot that's burned $40B+ with basically nothing to show for it. Reality Labs losses keep widening every quarter. Meanwhile TikTok isn't going anywhere, Reels monetization is still catching up, and Zuck himself has been quietly trimming his position for months. That's not confidence from the top. Everyone's bullying on AI tailwinds and "efficiency era" gains - fine, I get it, costs are down. But the stock's up nearly 400% from its '22 lows. The easy money is gone. Bulls keep saying the fundamentals justify this valuation, but with Reality Labs hemorrhaging cash and no clear path to profitability in that segment - what actually gets META to sustain a 26x multiple when the next ad market slowdown hits?
